THE ARTIST

Hello everybody! Let me introduce myself. My name is Zahari Zahariev, an ancestral, professional drawing artist. I live and work in the beautiful seaside town of Varna in Bulgaria. Professionally I have been engaged in fine arts for 30 years. I graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts “Nikolay Pavlovich” in Sofia, Bulgaria. My sign is Pisces and I am a leftist – the typical artist. ☺

The main interests I have, are in the field of portrait art. I use multiple techniques and materials. Usually, I draw realistic faces, charms, and sketches. I use oil, acrylic paints, dry pastels, aquarelle, graphite, and airbrush. I have worked upon more than ten thousand individual orders by clients from all over the world.

Realistic representations, in particular the portraits, are my professional occupation. All of my clients want to be painted in detail with an internal condition, beautiful, interesting, and mostly with 100% resemblance.

Sometimes this specificity and discipline come to a point when I need a change. Then, I abruptly switch the course and begin to paint abstract works. In the abstraction, there is no specific physical image, but in its own way, the combination of light and dark, the play of shades and shapes, the structural diversity of different materials, contribute to a guaranteed aesthetic, and mental impact. Abstraction is like an invisible world. You know it exists, you can feel it, you can sense it, but you cannot concretize it. And then, back to realism and hyperrealism. I draw almost every day for so many years, so I get more and more obsessed and fond of it. I like drawing pictures and the world around them, not only because of its serenity but also for the huge information and power it renders. In my job, I contact many interesting personalities, creative and highly empowered by imagination, full of interesting and diverse ideas that we transform together into picture reality. I experience every new picture I draw and try to do my best. I am extremely happy when my clients are satisfied with the result.

Welcome! Let’s try this together – our ideas and imagination, my drawing. P.S. My motto in life is – “Better to be than ‘to be or not to be’”
